Originally published in 1986, this book explains why most businesses fail and you can avoid becoming a part of this statistic.

Types of information systems
According to the author, your business should not rely on people's skills. Instead it must rely on systems. There are three types of systems in your business:
- Hard Systems (ex: your computer)
- Soft Systems (ex: employees)

Importance of an information system
Information is the glue that holds your systems strategy together. It tells you when and why you need to change. Without it you might as well put on a blindfold, have someone turn you around three times, and set out with a dart in your hand waiting on signal from heavens to throw it. Not a very promissing game.
Analytics will tell you your rate of conversion, what works and what doesn't. Tracking these statistics is essential and has to be done in 2022. Collecting data will enable you to control, develop, and improve your systems.
What should be tracked
Information system should track at least following information when it comes to your digital assets:
- how many calls & emails were received
- how many prospects were reached
- how many appointments were scheduled
- how many appointments were held
- how many new visitors viewed your page
- how long did each visitor stay on your page
- where are your visitors coming from (social media, Google search etc)
